Feb 22nd: Stress Less on the Job

Job stress can lead to poor health issues.  Learn some ways of reducing stress in your day.

March 14th: Credit and Debt – Managing it Wisely

Car loans, doctor bills, credit cards, a mortgage – almost all of us have some type of debt at some point in our lives.  Some debt helps us out and other debt keeps us down.  This workshop will cover different types of debt, what is in a credit report and who is reading mine, how to raise your credit score, and tips for fixing up credit and paying off debt.

April 18th: Lawn Care

Join Horticulture Educator Mike Maddox, as he explores environmentally and economical ways to keep your lawn looking lush and healthy.

May 30th: Cleaning Green Around Your Home and Center

Making homemade recipes can truly work if you take time to understand a bit about the chemistry behind how the materials work.  There are basic ingredients that are safe and effective for cleaning.  “Going Green” with household products can save many resources, money, people and the environment.  You will leave this workshop with a lot of take home material.

June 20th: Talking to Your Children About Money

Children who learn good money management at an early age become adults who manage their money well.  This workshop will explore topics such as allowances and chores among others.  You will leave with great ideas and activities to do with your children.

July 18th: Creating a Healthy Nutritional Environment at Home and at Work

Learn how to set up your family and co-workers for success in creating a healthy environment.  We have more influence than we think on peoples food choices.  Come and explore ways on how to be intentional about health for you and the people around you.

August 22nd: Canning Tomatoes Safely

Hands-on demonstration on how to safely can tomatoes.  Approved recipes, new ideas, and take home food.  All equipment will be provided.  Bring your tomatoes if you would like.

September 26th: Beat the Utility Blues – Weatherize Your House

October 10th: Toys & Recreation

This workshop will focus on being active indoors and outdoors without spending a lot of money.  This workshop will have hands-on activities.  You will leave with new ideas and resources.

November 7th: Planning for the Holidays

December 5th: Toys, Toys, Toys

Children are often disappointed when the toy advertised doesn’t appear to be as exciting in real life.  Advertisements can make toys seem to do more than they are designed to do.  Learn how to choose toys for the children in your life that stimulate creativity, are appropriate for their age and that will hold their attention.
