Emerald Ash Borer Confirmed in Rock County
The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has announced that Emerald Ash Borer has been confirmed in Rock County. In their press release:
An emerald ash borer (EAB) beetle was collected Friday from residents in the City of Janesville. They removed the partially emerged beetle from one of their ash trees during the previous day. Identification of the beetle was confirmed as EAB on Monday, June 25. At least one tree on the property was confirmed by a DATCP specialist as being heavily infested.
Homeowners with questions pertaining to ash tree identification and home treatment options may discuss options with Master Gardener Plant Health Advisors, available in Tuesdays through Thursdays at the Rock County UW-Extension office, Courthouse, or by calling (608) 757-5696.
