Horticulture Education & Events
- The Rock County UW-Extension Horticulture Program offers various training opportunities for the general public encompassing a variety of garden related topics. Programs are offered in conjunction with Rotary Botanical Gardens. Please visit www.rotarygardens.org for a complete list of education opportunities.
Master Gardener Program
- University of Wisconsin Extension offers the Master Gardener Volunteer Training Program, a 60+ hour lecture series that begins mid-September. It covers the basics of horticulture, including classes on woody and herbaceous ornamental plant materials, fruit and vegetable crops, plant diseases and insect pests. After completing the training program and 24 hours of volunteer service, participants become University of Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener Volunteers. Acceptance into the program is limited.
